RFA Development Planning is a new professional consultancy that provides the development sector with multi-disciplinary and specialist services, to private and public sector clients. Rick Finc is the Principal of the consultancy and heads up a team of professional consultants covering Scotland and the North of England. Based in the centre of Edinburgh, we have developed strong national and local networks with a range of high-profile blue chip clients creating strong, high-quality relationships.

Our underlying philosophy is to operate in the arena where development, economics and planning converge in order to promote sustainable development and placemaking. We take a proactive and innovative approach to providing services that determine the feasibility and viability of developing land and associated property assets for our clients.

We offer a proactive service with a comprehensive range of skills to navigate through the complexities of the planning system and take a holistic view to the development process, considering multi-disciplinary issues which cross professional boundaries rather than focus on narrow or routine activities.

RFA is completely independent providing advice on all aspects of the development process and the planning system as it affects land and property. Specialist advice is provided at each stage of the process in order to navigate the complexities of the planning system and reduce project development costs without compromising on service.

We are regulated by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and comply with their professional codes of practice. Our terms and conditions are available on the web site and we are able to offer a range of fee packages that reflect risk and reward in each individual case.
